Scale rot

What does a mild case of scale rot look like? i've seen it when its advanced (and nasty) but what does it look like in the early stages - thanks

Very mild case, I caught it early. Treated with Neosporin, healed after next shed.

...you'll see hyperemia (increased pink color) of the affected area, that looks like when a BP is going into shed, but it'll only be in the affected area, THEN you'll see isolated scales like in the pict in the previous post. Sometimes it'll be 2 or 3 isolated areas (ie 2 or 3 affected scales), others it's just one area affected.

...In addition to Neosporin or Polysporin, povidone-iodine (Betadine or generic) ointment is highly effective. Note any of these should be applied at least twice daily (about every 12 hrs) to account for that which is removed by rubbing off onto substrate.
