Incubators

lynsey Mar 30, 2004 11:00 PM

My boyfriend and I are planning on breeding ball pythons in the near future. I was curious as to what incubators people found to be the highest quality/trust the most with their eggs. I've been searching around but I'm not sure exactly what company to go with. Any opinions are appreciated.

Converted Hovabators work great. Just use the bottom of an oversize shipping styro and make the top fit snug. I've hatched MANY different species using these.

The next thing you could to is, get an Igloo cooler, some heat tape or heat cable, and a good thermostat and make your own. I've got 43 chondro eggs incubating in this set up now. So far it's working great and it only cost me about $150 total. I went for the large 120 qt. cooler, so you could actually save and use a smaller one.

Good luck.
