Definitely looks female to me, but also doesn't look like he/she has reached maturity yet. Did the vet say how they determined it was male? The femoral pores say female, there is no tail bulge, and there are no male features in the face (yet).

My guy definitely has the typical male facial features, but he is approaching four years old... I just went through some old photos, and it appears that he did not start to develop the large jowls and "brain bumps" until he was over two years old.

Here is a photo of Dexter when he was 2 years, 4 months. You can see that his jowls are starting to develop as well as his "brain bumps". You can also see his femoral pores, even from a distance.

From this photo you should be able to see that his facial features are just beginning to develop. (point being that an ig at 17 months won't yield too much info from it's face...)

Sorry I don't have any photos to show you of the tail bulge... But if your ig has this, it's pretty obvious.

He weighed 55g when he came ot live with me a little over a year ago. The vet said he will be slow to sexually mature due to being starved the first 6 1/2 months of his life. The vet said based on the agression vernie is showing he believes vernie could very well be male and just not developed yet. He bobs and tries to pick on my 18month old male andy who is very much the little gentleman.... lol
