Traveling

How many days can a uro be left unattended with just dry food (when he learns to eat it) avail? I travel with work several times a week and so far have only been gone for a day at a time. Eventually there will be a vacation in there to deal with though.

Does anyone use "Pretty Bird" finch pellets as dry food? I read about feeding them on the web but I can not find a store that carries the brand. Right now I am using "T-Rex" Iguana Dry Formula only (Juvenile fruit/flower mix) in a bowel at all times that is ignored.

I mix Bird seed red lentils and bee pollen as a dry mix.
I leave it in there at all times. My uro like the bee pollen
the best so it will dig through the bowl to eat that first.

As far as the dry pellets go, Zoo-Med's juvenile iguana food is preferred as it is alfalfa based, and the others are corn based. Which is strange that so many pet foods are corn based, as corn is so very difficult to digest! And Uro's don't digest corn! Could be the source of bloating for some individuals.
I mix ground up dried peas, lentils, with the Pretty-Bird Finch food, and the juvie iguana pellets and Bee Pollen. My guys prefer this to any fresh food!
