Haha, I'd rather see it rip and tear your forearm and see you piss your pants via the pain.

EJ Apr 01, 2004 01:30 AM

A friend that I visited a couple of years ago has some Komodos... He asked if I'd like to have my picture taken with one... I respectfully declined... call me a whimp but looking into those eyes of that animal I could see 'gowa head... I dare ya'.

I am still waiting for my pictures aghmmmmmmmm??????

crocdoc2 Apr 03, 2004 06:05 PM

Am I missing something, have you been bitten?

If you have copped a bite, you should post about it, for someone, somewhere might learn something from it. In my opinion, there are too many people out there wanting big monitors that seem completely unaware of the damage potential of even a minor bite.

sumherper Apr 05, 2004 01:49 AM

Hmmm.... Im not sure. Maybe I could post narly bite pics, and perhaps someone would be persuaded against buying, but on the flip side, how much more ammo would that give the PETA in their crusade? Its a hard one, ya know? To ban or not to ban, theres not much room for in betweens.

crocdoc2 Apr 05, 2004 08:31 PM

I would have thought PETA's concern was cruelty to animals, not what animals did to their keepers.

I am also not saying that you should post pics in the hopes that it will discourage others from buying certain monitors - everyone thinks it will never happen to them because they have special monitor-whisperer skills. It may, however, make a few people more careful, possibly reduce the number of bites that do occur so there will be less ammunition for those that try to ban them.

sumherper Apr 05, 2004 09:59 PM

Form what Ive heard of PETA, is that they are pretty much for complete banning. Maybe this reputation is wrong, I just have heard this alot.

I know what youre saying though, dont get me wrong. Its just kinda iffy. Ill seriously think about it though. Thats always been my philosophy in the past... completely being candid with everything I do with the hopes that my folly would be of someone elses benefit. Maybe Ill get back that nerve someday.

Nice to see you round these parts ole man! You gotta quit it though, youre making me hungry! Lol!
