I caught my snake.He aint a smooth though,he is a rough green snake..I wrote a artical about rough green snakes for REPTILES USA magizine e-mail me and ill send a copy to you about how to care for them.I love these snakes there WONDERFUL!

are a poor captive. Roughs are just as pretty and fair better in captivity. And most snake breeders and stores will not carry them, unlike what helmz said. You can maybe find them at petco or something, but why pay for a snake that is more likely to die than one you find yourself and obtain for free.

I agree with Snakeguy.I had a cousin that got a smooth 1 month it died...Ive never had a problem with my snake.He ate the day I caught him so yeah,he is a GOOD snake.

I've kept a few smooth greens and never had a problem, but I'm in the native range, I've always kept them for a month or so and put them back.
I don't know where you could find one for sale, I would just try my luck at some seedy pet store or on the Internet with an importer.

You know...If you are into smooth greens, you might want to consider the oriental Giant Green Snake. Cyclophiops major. It reaches forty inches, is buit heavier than our greens and has a gorgeous emerald color-with the typical yellow veneer.
They fed an large earthworms (I used night crawlers)and are best kept in a moist terrarium. I have kept this species and they do well in pairs. Not the easiest species to locate, but if you like "greens" it's the ultimate!
