Does anyone live in Ohio? If so do you have alot of garters around you? I don't but I really want one I have caught and kept garters when I was younger but I want one now and do not have any pet stores near me! If you reply to this message I may get in contact with you and I would pay you for a caught garter! Please reply!

Hey. If you live in Ohio and are interested in a snake, the first thing you should consider is going to the All Ohio Reptile Show in Columbus each month. Click on EVENTS to find out more info. You won't find folks selling wild-caught garters, nor should you. There are some pretty strict regulations in this state regarding native species, so to go out and catch one and then sell it to someone else is a NO NO. I have seen some nice albino garters at the show, and if you really want, you can find a place to catch a garter of your own, but I would highly suggest a captive bred animal for a variety of reasons. If you want to stay totally legit, and you don't want to screw around with permits, etc, you might consider a non-Ohio species of snake. There are lots of great beginner snakes out there that can be bought inexpensively and kept easily. Duffy
