Frog Condominiums: Roll Call

Who is keeping several frogs of the same species in the same enclosure? I've noticed alot of warnings about keeping more than just a breeding pair together. I've also seen alot of people with several frogs in their terrarium.

To help end the mystique, list species, number of animals, and any tips on your success here...for the good of the colony. haha

I've been keeping 4 male and 1 female dwarf French Guiana tinctorius together for almost 2 years. They are kept in a 46 gallon aquarium. They fight daily but nothing serious has ever resulted from it. I don't provide a water dish to prevent drowning. As long as you pay close attention to all of the frogs in the cage and don't provide a water dish then there isn't a large risk keeping tinctorius in groups. If one frog looks a little thin just pull it out to it's own seperate cage for a few months. On a side note, the woman that introduced me to dart frogs kept almost all of her frogs in groups (azureus, tinctorius, leucomelas, reticulatus, ventrimiculatus) and never seemed to have a problem either.

Made a mistake in the last post. It is 2 males and 1 female. If you put 2 females in a tank together they will fight.
