John Lucas cage plans....question

chamsrcool Mar 31, 2004 07:31 PM

im gunna either get a veiled or jacksons chameleon....veiled unless i find a good price on jacksons
anyways i was wondering if normal window screen would hurt veiled chameleon nails.
i have the screen and i have 1/2" screen i could use. if possible i would rather use the window screen since the other lets all the bugs out.

also how heavy are this cages im gunna make eithe a 24 24 48 or 24 24 36 not sure but if they are easy to handle like reptariums then i'll make a bigg cage.

Hi-

I would not recommend the fiberglass window screen because the crickets will chew right through it, you can use the pet screen. If you use the hardware cloth its best to use the PVC coated screen. This will prevent your chameleons feet from getting sores/cuts. Depending on what cage size you make the cages will have more weight to them then the reptariums do. Hope this helps!
