PacMan

FreakyTah Mar 31, 2004 10:28 PM

I got my new pac man to eat today, he ate a red worm and a cricket. He has stayed in his little den that he's created since he made it. At least I haven't seen him out. I was wondering if after a few more days to see what he does if i should set him in his water dish so it kind of forces him to explore. Whats the best way to grab em since i've heard from people that it isn't a good idea to handle them much. Is that true? thanks

A lot of times they will explore around at night and you won't even know because by the time you see them they are back in their hole. I don't know what knid of substrate you have but if it is something that will stick on him them you can tell if he has been in the water dish by the floating remains. The reason why they say to only handle them when you have to is because the oil from human hands can potentially hurt your frogs sensitive skin. Some people recomend using non-latex powder free surgical glove but thats up to you. When you grab him try to scope from behind and if need be you can hold him between your thumb and index fingers but don't squeeze too hard. Pac man frogs are not incredably active and he will probaly end up spending most of the time in his liottle burrow, or in the case of adults big burrow. A good way to see some action is with live food and pactience. Good luck
