Hump Back???????? please read

fisherk2 Jun 12, 2003 10:15 PM

Hi,

Yesterday I shipped a tremper albino to a customer, and he says the gecko walks with her back arched. He is calling it a "hump back", and he thinks it is some sort of deformity. I've never noticed anything wrong with her, and I bought her as an adult from a very reputable breeder. Has anyone ever heard of this before because I never have? Could she just be sore from being cramped up for 24 hours? This is the first experience I've had with an unsatisfied customer, so any information you have would be helpful.

Thanks!

sometimes they hunch their backs when they are scared. maybe it's just in a new place and is scared. Is he doing it all the time or just for a few moments at at time?

The guy I sold her to makes it sound like it is all the time, but I don't know for sure. Thanks for replying so fast!

Hello again,

I just want to say that there wasn't any true cause for concern in the message I posted. In a frazzled attempt to find out information about something I've never experienced, I posted a message about a customer without fully understanding what was going on. I would like to apologize for making him sound like an idiot when he is really an experienced and knowledgable herper. In the future, I will work harder to keep my cool, and not panic like I did tonight.

Good night

I'm assuming he read the post....
However, none of US know who he is, and you didn't make him sound dumb...as you said, there just wasn't enough information. Can you let us know the outcome, and what was really going on?

Ask him to photograph the gecko in this posture so you can see what he's talking about. If something happened to it in transit, or it's scared, or he's just full of it, that will be revealed then. <g>
