Has anybody ever seen an iguana with a solid black eye, no orange?
There is an iguana at a local pet store that has one black eye. I want to make sure he is ok and that there isn't something going on.

Is the pupil enlarged and fixed open (suggesting brain dmamge) or is the iris just very dark? I had an ig who had very dark brown irises.
It looked like it was the pupil. I checked under the light and couldn't see an iris. I will go back and check. I know the owner I'll call and tell him not to sell him yet. With brain damage would effect only one eye? Your ig is it both that are dark or one? Thanks for the info. I'll do more research.
I was just at the pet store today and I saw an iguana there that also had one black eye, the other was completly normal. The iguana was very active when I bent down to look inside he started running all over like crazy while all the other ones just sat there....
