Ihle amelanistic cornsnake

Aaron Apr 01, 2004 01:51 AM

I've got a corn that was sold to me as an Ihle Amelanistic Corn. Since I'm not into corn morphs that much and he doesn't look like other plain amels I've seen I was hoping somebody here might be able to tell me about this morph. Are these hybrids, a mix of different morphs or what? He's about 1 year old in this picture.

well i've been asking the same question of my corn, as to whether or not mine is a creamsicle morph, which is technically a cross between an emoryi rat snake and a corn. mine was up for debate as to whether it was a cream or not, but yours is without a doubt more on the side of the creamsicle than mine. i can't tell you for sure, but that would be my guess after all the discussion.

here's my corn to compare...

They are hybrids. They origionally came from rich Ihle when he owned the arizona reptile center. They are a corn to a king or milk hybrid. They are most likely 1/4 to 1/8 king. They are pretty cool looking. I've gotten a few of them, at the san diego shows.

so my corn is a king/corn hybrid? hmm. is there any more info that you could give or direct me to on this? i'd really like to learn as much as i can about corn snakes in general, but especially about my first corn. i'm glad to finally have a straight answer as to my morph questions. thanks for the info and in advance for any more that you can give. -ryan

The snakes posted to start this thread might have king snake or milk snake in them but your snake is definitely either full corn or corn/emoryi rat, no king or milk in that one
