Is this weird behavior??

girliegirl Apr 01, 2004 09:26 AM

Lately my crestie has been awake during the day. His colors are "fired" up, he is out of his hiding spot and he is hunting. Is this normal?? He lives alone and nothing has changed as far as food, cage furniture, humidity, etc. I've had him since he was 6 weeks, and he is now a year and 3 months old.

He has never done this before and I'm a little confused.

Thanks for any and all help and advice.
Carrie

He may just be looking for a mate or what not, I am not sure when they reach sexual maturity, but it sounds like he just has.

I thought that might be it, but he is my first and only crestie so I wanted to be sure. He won't have to wait long hopefully. Right Sonia??

Thanks again!
Carrie

Hi Carrie,

I wouldn't worry too much. That gecko looks super healthy...and pretty big (more like huge) for a male. In fact, he doesn't seem to have much of a bulge, but it's hard to tell for sure in that photo.
