Nevin,
. That is big for 16 months. Are you sure she is only 16 months old? 9 out of 10 CB BRBs are born between March and September. It is not likely that your snake was born in late November. I looked at your PICs and she looks nice and healthy. You will need to be careful feeding her in the future. These snakes seem to be genetically programmed for rapid growth without becoming obese when they are young. There would be a large benefit to growing up quickly in the wild. When BRBs are small they are ideal eating size for many predators. By the time they reach 4 feet in length they are too large to be easily killed and eaten by many of the animals they are likely to encounter. After they are older they slow down growing and will become obese if fed too heavily. I have one old adult female in my collection that I pushed too quickly and she has been obese for her entire adult life. I was hoping to get her grown up quickly and then put weight on her for her first breeding. She got fat that first year she was mature and did not breed. She is 10 years old and has laid one small litter her entire life.
Good luck,
Jeff

Nevin,
I recently downloaded that SerpWidget software that enables you to measure your snake using a digital photo. Pretty fun. Last night I measured my 22 month old BRB at 46 inches. I also feed rat pups though they are now ready for weanlings. Both my sub-adults I feed one pup a week (every now and then two). I had 5 left from the last pack and it had been open for several months so I decided to feed all of them; one took two and the other took three, so they are pigs if you let them be.
I also measured my adult male last night and he came in at 71.5 inches.
Fun little tool. Tonight I'll do the other 22 month old. The female I don't want to screw with right now.
How did you measure your snake?
Paul

first was when i looked at her, and guessed from that pic. the eclosure is 3' hight, and 2' deep. her tail went from the front of ther cage to her head taht was about 3 inches from the top. i then snapped thos pics down below. then i got a peace of string adn did it the old fasion way. it might now b that accurate, adn she mite b a lil under 4'10, but that is was i came up with. and then third, ur ganna laff. but my mom is 4'11" and i put chaos's tail at the ground, and held her head up, and she was almost the same length/hight as my mom.LOL. so thats how i got the 4'10.
