I was just wonering what the greenish colored worms are that I find they are usually an inch to two and a dull green color. I also wondered if they could be fed to a spotted salamander.
Thanks
Wayne

Best bet would be to post a picture of the worms, or go to your library and get a book on local butterflies/moths and compare it to the pictures in the book. There are so many green worms it is nearly impossible to guess what it is from a description.
the worms resemble earthworms they live in the ground they are not caterpillars, I can't post pics cause I don't have a digital camera....yet
Dear Wayne,
If the caterpillar you are talking about is captive bred it is probably a silk worm. I'm not sure if you can feed it to a spotted chameleon, but many other people feed them to lizards OK.
However, if it is a bug you find outside, DON'T FEED IT TO YOUR PET!!!
Insects that you are not 1000% sure of what they are can be poisonous. Plus, it is possible that they ate insecticide that did not kill them, but could hurt your pet. Insects that live outside also can have parasites. My cat liked to eat crickets from the great outdoors and became infested with parasitic woms. He was very sick and had a very exspensive vet bill.
