I've had my uro geyri pair for 3 years. This is the first year I decided to get serious about breeding them. Last year I tried just cooling them to around 70 and shortening the daylight hours for 3 months however that yeilded no success. This season I did something more drastic. I gradually cooled them starting at the beginning of Nov. until the end of nov. by that time I shut off all heat sources leaving the florecent light on for a few days(I did not feed them 10 days before turning off all heat sources this is very important). By this time the uros are completely inactive. Next, I removed them from their enclosure and placed them in med rubbermaid containers. I kept them in darkness at a temp of only 55-60degrees for 2 and a half months. Within 3 weeks of bringing them out of hibernation they began copulating, every morning for a week. 5 weeks later I had a healthy clutch of 16 eggs!!. Make sure your uros are fat and healthy before attemping this. GOOD LUCK!!
