Very nice pics. Is he in the process of shedding right now? If so, is he grumpy or moody? Ra is shedding the underside of his tail right now and gets some weird mood swings now and then.

Keep those pics coming

yup he's in shed ...at the moment he sheds his legs and belly!but i'm getting an idea he is egyptian, cause on the shedded back i can see yellow dots, which hardwicki usually don't have!!
what's your opinion?
i'm glad you like the photos!!

that they get really, really big.
You might want to ask somebody on here who owns an Egyptian if your little guy will grow up into a really big guy.

I'm sorry I can't help you more than that. Good luck with him.

Check out the pic of the U. hardwicki on Deer Fern Farms. That one has a yellowish back. Click on "Uromastyx Species Available", then click on "U. hardwicki" (observe the pic) and read the description of that species. It seemed to me that the nose of your uro was too short to be an Egyptian (hardwickis have shorter noses than the other uro species).

Hope this helps.

I think he's hardwickii as well... he has that look that none of the others seems to have. Either way, though, he's definitely a cutie-pie!

Definitely a Hardwicki.
There is a black mark on the inside of the rear leg. I have a Hardwicki who has a honeycomb pattern on his back sometimes seen in the species..
If you were to compare images of a young Egyptian and a Hardwicki it would be easier to tell -Although similar they do look pretty different side by side.
That being said, even within the same species there are tons of variation in coloration and body types.
Maybe what you have is a geographic variation of a Hardwicki that has adapted its color to that region.
I have some pictures of young egyptian and older egyptians as well as my hardwicki if you want to compare the looks email me.
Good luck with your Uro.
Ed
BTW-what is the temperament of your Hardwicki?-Mine is quite skittish..

yea i know i made a mistake...i didn't mean to say egyptian!i thought he was not hardwicki, but with all your opinions i think it is!i was just confused about yellow dots pattern on his back!
he is quite tame, but hides a lot of his time!when i hold him he is relaxed and eats from my hand without worries!
i just hope he'll get used to me when i'm in room and he is in his cage!...so he won't hide whenever i enter my room!

Great to hear yours is tame. Mine is skittish but seems to be relaxing a bit.
One note about him. He is the only Uro that I have that digs him self in the substrate before retiring for the night.
He is a cute little guy.
