2nd try.

Finally getting around to posting some photos from the last couple weeks. Two rattlers and an alligator lizard. My photo editing still sucks, but we'll see how it goes.

First up was a beautiful Northern Pacific Prairie Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis oreganus), found him curled up in the sun, next to a log that I moved. He was a small snake for an adult (had 13 segments on his tail). Most mellow rattler I've ever photo'd, he never rattled, and I probably could have held him like a non venomous (but thankfully the saner side of me prevailed).

Next up was a California Alligator Lizard (Elgaria multicarinata multicarinata). He was also under a log, and was pretty mellow as well, didn't crap or bite. Great pattern for a southern.

Last up was another great oreganus. This guy was much more typical of Northern Pacifics, rattled like crazy, and very aggressive. This was almost the same size as the previous, but had only three segments.

Have two great trips planned coming up. First is to Anza Borrego State park in mid april, and my favorite trip is a yearly 8 day trip to the AZ desert first week in May. Happy Herping.
