My orange head roach colony now has PLENTY adults running around, eating well, breeding, being kept in optimal conditions. I have YET to intentionally feed off even a single one of my pet (they're not being fed off, so obviously I'm only keeping them for the sake of keeping them, which makes them a pet, right?) roaches.
I REALLY REALLY want to get a colony of matids going to feed my chameleons. The only reason I don't get an egg case or two is because I'm afraid I'll never be able to bring myself to feed them off to my chameleons.
Now don't get me wrong. I've got FF cultures, crickets, silkworms, superworms, and waxworms that I keep and feed off with no problems. I even feed pinkies/fuzzies to my breeding female beardies. It's just that some of these bugs are just so darned.... cute!
Speaking of breeding, my baby veileds have finally started to hatch. I have 14 babies so far, with more hatching almost daily. One just pipped as of this writing, will be number 15. Plus, one of my beardies laid 17 healthy fertile eggs (out of 24 total laid), that are due to hatch right about May 5. She is gravid yet again, and is digging as of this writing. I have taken some pictures, but I need some imaging software to post. Yes, exciting times. Yes, quite busy! No, I don't get much sleep nowadays thank you!
