It all depends on how you plan on setting up the habitat and what species you plan on keeping. Give us a little more info and we can better answer your questions.

I would not put more than 4 tops into a 35 gallon hex. Normally I would say no more than 3 but since you are working with a tall you might be ok with 4. Personally I would still stick with 3.
