My sinaloan is soaking in his water dish daily - all day. He goes into his hide at night, but is back in the tub each morning. Is this normal behavior?

Check him for mites. If he doesn't have mites, then check your temperatures. A snake that is too hot will often use water to cool itself down. For a sinaloan, you probably don't want to be warmer then 80-85 degrees on the hot side. Finally, if all these things are good, then he probably is just preparing for a shed cycle, in which case this behavior is normal.
Cheers!
Thanks for your reply!
No mites that I could see. I've had him for 9 months and never have I seen a mite. I just changed substrates and the heat may have something to do with it. His hide is half on the warm side and half off. Temp is at 80 though. The water dish might be the only "cool" hide he has. I'll change that and see if it makes a difference.
