My tegu still hasn't not woken up. When I go to disturb him, he seems bright eyed, but I never see him out and about. What can I do to get him going? I'd like him to start eating and growing already!

What are you temps in the cages? Humidity? Info like that would help... My two tegus are still groggy from hibernating, not shed or eaten but maybe once so far.
I took out the leafy stuff in his enclosure and disturbed him. Threw some cockroaches in with him to see if that would get him going. He tried to eat one, but was a bit slow. Then he went to bed and this morning I went to wake him up and offered him a pinky and he was bright eyed and went for the pink! Hopefully, this is the start of a feeding frenzy.
I think seeing the cockroaches got him going b/c as soon as he saw them moving around in there he started to get active roaming around his tank.

you should not disturb a tegu while in hibernation/brumation---if the tegu is in a hibernated state and you are digging him/her up to feed ; it can lead to problems .the food can rot in their stomach (gut rot/stomach rot)---let them go thru cycle naturally---you will know when your tegu is hungry- trust me
I am going through the exact same thing, and every time I really start to worry, I see another post which says I'm not the only one whos baby is still sleepin away. Soon, soon!!!
