I've been researching and have come up with a lot of conflicting info. Some people say the knobs can be kept at room temp just fine, and others say that you should give them supplemental heat. What do you guys think?

I have an adult male Knob. He lives in a 20galL/aspen substrate, half log hide and water bowl. The tank is in the coldest room of my house and I use a small black heat bulb which I have over one end of his tank and I leave it on all the time. He uses both ends evenly. He is the tamest and gentlest snake I have ever seen. Wonderful pet and my first snake.
