hearing&sight

hi all, how keen is the hearing of a mali? it seems to me that he can hear when the dog way down the block barks. he stands at attention with ears peeled. sometimes he runs and others he just waits and listens. also, do they see color? i'm wondering if my 'bright pink shirt' may be scaring him away, as 9 times out of 10 he bolts! thanx for your replies.

Their hearing is very good I am guessing. Mine always looks up whenever it hears anything.I have to sneak in to get a peek of him.
