Jobi - the potato trick

el_toro Apr 03, 2004 12:47 PM

Hey, Jobi-

My old limp greens got gross, so I had to wait for a new batch of greens to get limp before trying your potato trick. It does work! It's kind of creepy and weird, actually.

Is there anyone here with a lot of plant knowledge (Debb, maybe? ) who knows if this would do anything strange to the makeup of the greens you feed to your uro? Soak them in water with a little cut up potato for about half an hour, and limp greens are firm and crisp again.

Thanks!

I tried it too and it worked with my limp dandelion greens. The weird thing is that the potato afterwards is kind of dried out. It's pretty cool.
