almost time in Mi

the weathers getting pretty nice in western Mi and i need some advice on where to look in ottowa or allegen county, near the lake. i am looking to photo, observe, and maby collect if i can find info on local laws. any advice apreciated

i just wanted to add that any snake info would be great i dont know alot about local snakes, also i would like the chance to see a spotted and wood turtle, as i have never seen thes thanks again

You should check out Michigan Society of Herpetologists. They will have more info on animals in your area. I don't think wood turtles are in your area, but spotteds probably are, and they are both protected sps, btw. If you are near Saugatuck State Park, that would be a good area to look for herps near the lake. Check around the dunes. Allegan State Game Area is also good. Let me know if you see any of my targets: black ratsnake, massasauga rattler, and box turtle, to name a few. Good luck.

PS: With the cold weather for the next week, or so, we'll probably have to settle for looking at amphibians. Spotted and Jeffersons salamanders are out in your area.

well thanks for the help but this cold weather isn't making it easy no luck anywhere yet but i'll keep trying, i have also herd that we might have blue tailed skinks around here and was wondering if that was true
