Ive had a cb Albino burmese that i have had for about 3 years now i love him to death and sometimes he sleeps with me (bad idea i know) but i still havent come up with a good name. plzz help!!

Names from movies are popular. I've used names based on their personalities mostly. A few have names I can't post on here! I also have a few I have used biblical names for. It's really whatever you like, or goes with the animal. I have a friend with an albino named "Blackie", whatever works for ya. Jim

Earth/Endymion
The Greek Endymion, not a god but the prince of Earth, was the son of Aethus and king of Elis, was handsome young shepherd who resided on mount Latmus in Caria. The Moon (Selene), who put him into an eternal sleep so she could visit him every evening, loved Endymion. Selene bore the sleeping Endymion fifty daughters.

Jupiter/Zeus/Jove
Jupiter or Jove, was the god of the heavens and earth, the god of justice and the ruler over all other gods. He was a sky god, a god of rain and the god of thunder and thunderbolts. Zeus was a promiscuous god and took many lovers, including his sister and some mortal women.

Mars/Ares
Mars was the god of war, one of the chief gods of the pantheon, who was associated with military power and glory. Mars was driven by rage and violence, and preferred to spend his days battling in bloody combat. However, the Greek Ares, son of Zeus and Hera, was a ferocious, brutal, blustering, and cowardly god of War. He was hated by all of the gods and goddesses, with the exception of Aphrodite and her sister, Eris, goddess of discord.

Mercury/Hermes
Mercury, the messenger-god of Jupiter, was the god of story telling, eloquence, commerce, and games of chance.

Saturn/Cronus
The Roman King-God Saturn was a god of the Harvest who begot the Major Roman Gods. The Greek Cronus, son Or Uranus and Gaea, was the god of time and the mightiest Titan of them all. Cronus and his sister Rhea had six Children (the Olympians), but Cronus ate the first five newborns to prevent them from one day overthrowing him. Rhea saved her sixth child, Zeus, who one day did overthrow his father.

Just some suggestions......I love researching for names! I am getting a bearded dragon today and will name her "Arwin" after Liv Tyler's character from the Lord Of The Rings.

Depends on the personality of the animal.
One of my BPs is Sugar 'cause shes so sweet.
My burms are Isis and Solomon. Solomon is albino so the whole gold thing.
Yellow Anaconda is Chopper 'cause she likes to bite. From the Stand By Me movie "Chopper, sik balls!"
Other BP is Xander after the XXX movie. No real reason.

Whatever floats your boat! All mine have different names for different reasons...theres no rules just pick something!

I always just look for a unique physical characteristic, or a personality idiosyncrasy to pick a name that reflects that characteristic. (example,... he often sleeps with you voluntarily,... "Sancho", lol. Or "peestain" because he's yellow and in your bed. lol. ok, now I'm getting silly, I'll stop)
Sometimes I find names relating to the species of snake. Like my Irian Jaya and Jungle carpets are usually named after carpet related things. There's "Shag", "Nylon", "Pile", "Anso", "Dupont" and so on. Some of my most yellow albino patternless are named after butter related things, "Oleo", "Parkay", "Butterball", etc.
I think you get the idea. I'll stop now before I make the other forum members puke, lol. But if you are interested in about 100 other characteristic-based names, just email me. I'd be more than happy to babble about my babies some more at great length.

p.s. (My patternless greens are "Lime", Sweetpea", "Algae", and "Envy". Get it? Because they're green? lol. How very un-clever, I know. ha ha)

The fastest way to achieve great wealth is by living more poorly for much longer.

I randomly pick a wide variety.. from all sorts of things.

My Labyrinth burm is named Ariadna. She was the women who helped whats-his-face get through the Labyrinth to beat the Minotaur. I also have a red tailed boa named Pandora.. another mythologicial figure. Odin, my bearded dragon, another figure. My bearded dragon has two eyes though.. the Odin in most stories only had one

My normal burm is named Tenchi, from the Anime (Jap. Cartoons), Tenchi Muyo. I just like the cartoon..

There there is Riesin, the poison. (spelled differently though) Even though the snake named that isn't venemous.. she's just a carpet python

Names from the bible.. such as Jael (for my VERY mean kingsnake). Jael was a women who killed a man by driving a tent spike through his skull.

My Black blood python is named Sang Noir, or Noiri for short. Sang Noir is French for "Black Blood". I plan in the future to name most of my snakes their common name but in a different language.. like French. I really love the French language for some reason.

There are sooo many possibilities out there. Pick out a charastic of your snake and check a Thesaurus and see if there are any neat words that mean the same thing. Or get an online translator and find it in another language.. or something like that Hope this helps some with ideas.

Like my boa is memphis and the burm is sway, fav movie is gone in 60 seconds, and my ball is shiane, I like that southern name, and when I get my albino burm of if I ever get a male retic I will call it Ivan or Drago for Rocky because that my all time fav movie.

I always thought fluffy would be a perfect snake name. I keep getting out voted here in the house, but I just think it would be great. Cuddles is a good one for pythons in my mind. But as you can tell I am a little 'off'

Dont think too much about it. A good name for a pet is like love, it hits you w3hen you dont expect it, but you'll know it when it does.

I usually have to wait a bit to think of a name that is fitting. I really don't have a system, and actually do have a few unnamed snakes too.

Whatever you do, never name a python Monty. Its not cute or funny at all.
