Is this breeding or egg laying behavior?

lynngirl Apr 03, 2004 06:00 PM

I had my 3 beardeds for about 2 years now so im sure they are sexually mature. I have two males and a female. I know it is better with two girls but this was my luck of raising unsexable hatchlings. OKay, I noticed a lot latetly my 2 males head bobbing, waving, turning beards black, one biting, fighting each other "it seems" and one must be dominate because the other runs away.(the non-black bearded smaller one) I cannot tell if they mated or if my female has eggs but she is very calm acting and seems to have this puff in her beard(no black coloring) and just seems to lay around on the sand a lot.

Does all this activity between the males and the girl with a puffy beard mean they possibly mated?

thanks pics to show.

Are these dragons all housed together?
Males shouldn't be together unless in a VERY large enclosure. The fighting can escalate to a very serious situation. In fact, all 3 should have seperate enclosures.

Are the dragons siblings?

Your female laying around, being calm, could be a sign of stress on her part. It's definately not egg laying behavior.
