Night heat and lighting for leopard geckos

mom2autumnnreign Apr 03, 2004 09:02 PM

Ok, I read a incandescent buld of 60 to 75 watts is good for daylight heating....I am also wanting to watch my gecko(s) at night and they will need some heat as my house is rather cold at night...I was wondering what is the best light to use for veiwing and heating at nighttime??

A red light will work well for night time viewing. UTH's work the best for heating, however. Since leos are nocturnal, they usually will not use a basking light.
