Eating habit question........

D Goudie Apr 04, 2004 06:51 AM

Hi Guys;

Has anybody else's Indigos in here gone off their food??? For the past 2 months my guys seem like they could care less about food. The temps are the usual 82 warm end..... mid 70's in the cool end. Not only my 2 recently aquired adult females have really slacked off eating BUT so have my juvenilles....... I was told natural sunlight can make a difference all 5 of mine are in a roon where they get a lot of natural light but with the days getting longer I would have assumed their eating habits would have picked up by now....... Not too worried about it yet.... but curious to know if anybody else's Easterns are not their usual ravenous selves..........

Thanx

Dean

This happens. When they're ready they start eating again. My male Texas has slowed down eating dramically since February. One female Eastern has stopped eating rats and only wants mice. Before summer she'll pick up again. Don't forget to add humidity to cages (pouring in a cup of water each day).

Should also mention the 2 new gals were shipped to me in early January & had to be totally screwed up on their cycle, it's still VERY much winter up here in Canada as well, there's still 2 feet of snow in the back yard.

Not only that the larger female 66" weighed 9.86 lbs & the smaller of the two 62.5 " wighed 8.78 BOTH could easily spend some time @ 'Jenny Craig for Drymarchon' neither have showed any sign of weight loss either.

Thanx again for your response, makes me feel better.

Mine have been rather picky lately too. Your' not alone. I've been told not to worry about it. It's hard not to.

I hear from guys like you the less stressed I become, their not visibly ill or nothin, still their ole selves cruising around their cages like their kings of the collection but just don't seem to be hungry...... well mine ARE the kings of my collection for that matter.......

Their even turning up their noses at Smelt, only 1 thats still eating regularly is my '01 juvenille female.... the one that usually goes off her food when everyone else is pounding down everything in sight......... go figure....

Thanx for the reassurace have a good day.......
