BCI - trying to find out an approx origin for her. New pics

kyleontheweb Jun 13, 2003 07:32 AM

Hey all, thanks to everyone's help here and from redtailboa.net, I now know my boa is a BCI. Thanks everyone! I have heard people say that she is probably a "Central American", and others say that she is probably a "Common Colombian Boa". I am not really sure, because I am not experienced with this, but everyone told me my last pictures were too dark to show proper color and I should get some new pics, so I did.

They are located at http://home.att.net/~kyleontheweb/medea.htm
I did not post them here directly because there are many of them, and I do not want to force them on everyone if you don't have time to look. These pics show the whole snake, her body close up, and her underside as well which has a lot of pink. She also has a lot of reds and yellows near her tail, and is mostly brown all over.

Thanks for looking, please let me know your opinions on what she is.

Central American BCI. Colombians tend to be lighter in coloration, from what I have seen.
Also, is his/her mouth alright? It looks a little dis-alligned in a couple of those pictures. Just wondering.
Good luck with your boa,
Eric

Thanks! I appreciate the information. I haven't seen a lot of different boas, so it's good to hear from someone who has a better exposure to these things.

I didn't realize about the mouth. I will definitely check that out when I get home, to be sure. That is blood she has around her mouth though, she had just eaten a rat recently that made kind of a mess. It was gross. It's not her blood though, I am sure of that. I didn't realize she had blood left on her until I took the pics.
