I WAS WONDERING WHAT BRED TO WHAT WOULD PRODUCE THESE. THANKS
It acually is more complicated than what breeds to what to make one?
At this stage we can breed dbl-hets to get them ?
First you need to make the dbl hets.If you started from scratch you would breed a hypo to a anerythristic to produce dbl-het for ghosts.
Once you raised up the dbl-hets you could breed them together and 1 out of 16 would have the chance of being a ghost.A ghost is a animal that is both hypo and anerythristic at the same time (double homozygos). In the process you would hatch out hypos in this clutch and they would be 2/3 or 66% chance of being het for anerythristic,so thats were we get the hypos that are possible het for ghost? The same is true with the anerys that hatch out being possible het for hypo .
So if you start with a ghost and bred it to a hypo the whole clutch would be hypo(cause a ghost is hypo)and they would all be 100% het for anerythristic (cause the ghost is anerythristic).Thats were you will see the hypos that are het for anery.
Now if you breed a ghost to a anery you will get the same results just in opposite looks,(i.e. they will be anerys het hypo).
If you breed a ghost to a het for anery the anerys that come out will be 100% het hypo and the normals that come out will be dbl-het for ghost (normal in apperance but 100% het for both hypo and anery).
so if its a ghost x het hypo you get the same type of results.
So in a nutshell thats the ghost complex.
The same thing is true with the anerythristic x albino for the dbl-het snows.

So if I started with a double het male and bred it to my anery. That what would be my next step to get the ghosts. Also woudla ghost to ghost breeding produce all ghosts or what combination. I love your site. It will be making me poorer this year.

Instead of just asking about each combination, see if you can figure it out, then you'll be able to predict outcomes for all your pairings. You'll feel good about that. Check the genetic sections of one of the snake books (hypo, anery, and albino are each "simple recessive" or recessive mutations, so they all work the same way) or check out the genetic section at my website below. If you get lost somewhere in it, email me and i'll improve the site and answer your question. But you need to know that ghost x ghost IS going to give you all ghosts, and why, or you are very vulnerable to someone selling you something (not if you buy from shannon, of course) based on a false promise, or that's not going to give you what you expect.
good luck, see if you can answer your own question about what double het x anery would give you...you need to figure out two things: what does "het" x "homozygous" or in this case, het/anery x anery give you? and what does "het" x normal or in this case, het/hypo x "normal" -- normal re: hypomelanism, in that your anery has no hypo genes). Answer those two questions and you've pretty much answered the whole thing. I hope that helps.
