I've always heard that you shouldn't mix species....but the grazing is too good this time of year....
Ivan (llama) and Nigel (sulcata) get along quite well out in the pasture.

This is a really nice pic!
But is there no danger, that Ivan might kick your sucata with his hooves? I do not have experience with this of course, but don't they kick like horses do sometimes?
Gaby
Llamas can kick....but mine are actually very gentle. They've never kicked or even spit. If they don't like something, they just move away and look at it from a distance. ...so unless Nigel decides to stalk a llama, I'm pretty sure they'll be ok. lol
Still, I'm too paranoid to let them graze together without supervision.
Unlike MOST other pets I've had, I consider my torts and my llamas to be very "Zen" creatures. I really enjoy having both as pets.

My only concern would be Nigel eating Ivan's droppings or vise versa (don't know if llamas have a tendency to do this but I know a sulcata would without any hesitation). Not really sure is this is cause for concern either but it is something I would consider doing a bit of research on.
PS. They are a nice looking couple of critters!!
One neat thing about llamas is that they always go to one spot to use the bathroom. Nigel can't get to that area. (hay bales that the llama can hop over keep Nigel away from spot.) As for the llama eating tort poo.... I'm pretty sure it wouldn't happen. Llamas are pretty picky grazers.
