another silicone question, with a twist

I know all of the archives say its okay to use the black silicone even though its not for use on aquariums, but I used it to cover up the lower walls for a false bottom waterfall and 48 hours later 2 of the walls are still tacky. The other two walls cured fine though. Has anyone else had this problem or know why this happened?
