Okay, my son and I decided we would get a rough green snake, to test his (he is 11yo) abilitys to care for 'vine' snakes. Against my better judgement and to not pay shipping we went to Petco. Immediately saw the mites in the eyes of this little guy but have a can of Provent a mite and figured it is going to be far far away from the rest of my snakes. Oiled the little cuss down and sprayed the paper towel with Provent a Mite, let it dry and changed the cage with it.
Now, do I need to worry that this is a cricket eating thing and that I just treated the cage with bug killer? Do I need to let it sit for a few and then change it out before feeding again? What would you do? He seems to be taking crix the first day (before treatment) when no one was looking as we have each put some in and there aren't any left.
Any input on this snake would be very welcome as it is a learning experience for us and we would like to do good.
