freshly laid eggs are soft...normal?

gregd Apr 04, 2004 11:11 PM

My female just laid 30 eggs an hour ago. This is my first time with eggs. I was digging them out to put them in the incubator and the first thing I noticed was that they were soft. Is this normal? Will the shells eventually harden? Is this is a sign of infertile eggs? Any advise from experienced "egg handlers" would be appreciated. Thanks.

Greg
