Vet Visit today...

lostkauze Apr 05, 2004 08:54 AM

I'm bringing my girl Mildrid into the vet today. I don't know if anyone remembers, but she was the girl I picked up at a local show, that doesn't eat mealies, and only the occasional cricket. She's only lost a couple grams, but she is such a big girl, I know she can reach weights of over 60. I've been feeding her Marcia's recipe, she loves it, but not the normal foods.

This is my first vet visit, ever, and I'm curious is to what I need/should do. I am going to bring a fecal sample, because they can test for stuff with that, right? I'll bring her there in a container inside a shoe box so its dark and less stressful for her. I am thinking maybe she has worms or something? Is there anything I should ask the vet or anything? I am kinda anxoious (sp) to see what's wrong with my girl, but I know the minute I walk into the vet's office, I'll blank out.

Any advice, whatever, would be awesome.

Thanks
Michael

Hi

If you are transporting her in cold weather, then you will need to put something warm in with her to keep her warm. I usually take a pop bottle and fill it with the really hot water and then wrap a couple papertowels around it incase they touch the bottle.

The vet. will ask you like, how old is she?, how long have you noticed these simptoms?, what is she feed?, what substrate do you use?, what is her name? etc..

Take Care, TLB

Ok. Thanks. No its 80* here, and it's only a 5 minute drive, she'll be fine. I got her at a show, so I'm not sure how old she is. I'm pretty positive she has never bred, so maybe she was too young to breed when I got her, because if the guy I bought her from was smart, he would have bred her (if she was the right age), she's gorgeous.

Ok, we'll the appt. is at 4:20 so I'll update everyone then. Thanks again.

Michael
