Roaches!!!

FreakyTah Apr 05, 2004 01:01 PM

I was just wondering what is a good size roach to feed an adult beardie. He's not the biggest beardie i've ever seen, but he's getting close to two years old so he's pretty much as grown as he's gonna get. I was just wondering what is the largest size roach I would want to feed an adult bearded. I gave him a little tiny one and he chowed it down without a problem. Thanks for any advice.

Hi!

Mine LOVES his hissing cockroaches I give him ones basically the same size or just a tad bigger than the crickets I feed him. Basically about as big as the space between their eyes is ok.

thanks for the advice, is there anyplace online that you know of to buy them? There's a store that sells them but they're 6 bucks a piece.

at Mike's Monitors, also, keep your eye on the KS feerder classifieds, sometimes you can find good deals there, I know Dave's Zoo in PA sometimes offers them there for $o.80 each. Hope that helps,

The nice thing about roaches is there is less chance of impaction than worms and they digest really well. You can feed roaches of pretty good size.

adult blaptica dubia's to my adult beardies. I could write an 1800 word essay on how much I like feeding roaches. I have 4 adult beardies and a couple juvies and I haven't fed any of them crickets since I had them. roaches rule! The dubia's are my favorite because they multiply so darn quick (not quite as fast as lobsters)get to be a good size, are not as hard as hissers and are not able to climb glass.
