I've got a Pac Man frog that I've had for about a week now. He seems to be getting used to me and his new environment. He's found a nice hiding spot under the big leaf of a vine. He's also getting used to eating with tongs, as he jst ate three crickets using them. I was just wondering how important it is for them to be in the water dish. Unless I surprise him real late at night he sits in his little hiding spot all day long so I don't have any clue if he ever gets into the water dish at all. Is there a trick to getting him to like it in there, or do u think he'd go in there at night if he wanted to. Thanks for any advice.

I wouldn't stress too much about that. The frog will go to the dish when it wants to. Make sure its easy for it to get in the water bowl too. You can easily tell if the frog has gone in the water bowl by checking out the water clarity. If it has some substrate in it, then it was in there earlier so jess clean it out afterwards.

You never will see them drink water from the mouth. They absorb all the water they need through their skin. So even if your frog never seems to visit the water dish, he is still able to absorb moisture frrom the substrate. You don't want the sub. to be too moist though, or tons of mold will grow.
