What a great setup! Lucky tegus; they really seem to enjoy the new 'digs.' Watch dogs, indeed.... Actually, believe it or not, I have a 'watch horse,' who whinnies up a storm whenever someone comes into the yard. The horse alerts the dog, the dog does the 'follow me, Timmy's in the well' routine to let me know where they are. NOBODY sneaks up on me!

Seriously, though, those are some awesome tegus.

Your interior shot shows the triangular hide, which looks to me almost like a corner feeder for horses. Is that what you used? If so, how did you do the 'door awning thingie" If not, I still think that I could use one of those in my big cage and it would work great, and lots cheaper than a pet shop giant hide.

Thanks!

The hide in the corner is some kind of cat house. It is 2 identical halves. So I just use them individually as hides. Kinda hoping the females will use them to lay in. The males are starting to show sigbs of mating but the females dont seem to receptive yet. I am looking forward to a bunch of babies. Now all I have to do is get them to cooperate.

Just wanted to say....

AWESOME pens, and beautiful tegus!!

I also have a "watch dog" in the form of my dog zoey, if we take meego outside, to do his business, she will hover over him like crazy!! She even chased a neighborhood cat away the other day, the funny thing is, he was on the leash, and it was nowhere near him!!! lol

great job on those pens!!! (I may be asking you for plans in the not too distant future, with the way meego is growing)
