Recovering Beardie

leofreak Apr 05, 2004 04:36 PM

A couple days ago I posted that the vet said my beardie is dying and right now he is making a huge recovery thats to Cipro(sp?) and Repta-Aid. But his legs are very limp still. Why are they limp and when,if ever,do you think they will work properly

If it's the stuff that I'm thinking of, the injection site can have some damage and be sore. When this happens, beardies tend to let the limb go limp until it feels better. I'm glad to hear he is doing better though. Remember to keep him well hydrated, that stuff tends to dry them out a bit. Good luck

There is no piercing of the skin at all. The Cipro is orally and the Repta-Aid is also orally.

You got me then. Could be a defensive measure while he's sick, like don't waste energy on things that don't need it?????? This was the one with the infected/necrotic tail correct? Maybe someone else will have an idea. Good luck

Ya he had the bad tail, well no worry he seems to be getting around pretty fine.He looks like a snake and his front legs are working better now.

It may also be that he is a little stressed out from the whole procedure and then the meds, etc. I would keep an eye on him and if things don't improve, I would call the vet back and see if he has any suggestions. He may want to see the dragon again.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help
