65 gallon open air reptarium

kyle1414 Apr 05, 2004 06:40 PM

im also considering the 65 galllon (28*16.5*30)open air mesh reptarium and I was wondering what I could put in it. I was thinking a bassilisk but I was told they are a bad idea for that cage. I dont want a lizard too expensive (under 50$) and the habitat (excluding heat and lighting) should be 50-100$ or less. Im thinking abut a knight anole. What do you all think.

Probably would be good, a Knight anole, he would have alot of room to climb around.

I use the same size 65 gallon for a pair of emerald swifts they have a blast !

Good luck, post some pics when you fill that cage, LOL

well it would be a good knight anole habitat.are you using a reptarium liner righ now.they make these in two sizes for each cage.this is so you can use it for terrestrial reptiles as well.i have one and it houses a few different types of lizards.just adding some thought

well.if your wondering what i house in it,i have in iti have a racerunner,a pair of fence lizards, and a i did have a small ground skink before it died(their somewhat hard to take care of)i caught all of these lizards within the same acre at my grandmas house.you would have to research what else but you could probably try agamas, various skinks, possibly plated lizards and lacertas.always remember though that you need to safety pen the zipper handles together as if your nt careful lizards can push open the zipper and get out(my old savanna did this).

I dunno whether or not its the right size and type but a veiled chameleon would be a goo choice, they average around 20-30 bux in shows and 30-50 bux with breeders, they are the less demanding of the 3 most popular chameleon species:

Panther
Jackson's
Veiled
