hello all,
i thought i had made some progress with isis but now when i get too near she runs and hides. today i tried to put my hand near her in hopes that she would come near and check it out but she arched her back and got ready to hiss. how can i go about getting her used to me without stressing her too much. i am hoping to have a handlable leo, thats why i chose a leo over the other lizards i was interested in. i was also wondering if leos show any signs of stress physically like anoles do, i.e. black spots behin thier eyes? thanks much for the help!

Hi

In my experience, sometimes you just need to pick them up and while doing it, talk to them and support as much of there body as possible when doing so.

In my experience, I have raised all of my geckos from baby's and I have always held them rate from the start and I have never had one ever drop a tail.

Last night i try to handle mine for the first time, he is very shy, so i just leave my hand in the enclosure without trying to pick him up and speaking to him all the time. He come close to my hand but thats all. Tonight i'll try again. I think that the trick is patience.
