5 month hides in substrate is this normal

i have a 5 month old that sometimes hides in my potted plant and sometimes under the side of my driftwood and hide in the substrate is this all normal behavior?

Yes, it is perfectly normal for them. They will naturally try to find a place to hide during the day and come out at night to search for food. It is best to place a hide box on the warm and cool side. If you little boa does not have a proper place to hide and feel secure other problems may arise in the future. Hides give a little boa confidence. The stress from not having a proper place to hide may lead to a weakened immune system making him or her more susceptible to sickness or may make him go off feed.
