criket feed/quencher question?

lizzylizard Apr 05, 2004 10:05 PM

I have heard on this post that they can go bad easily. I have been using the same Fluker criket feed and criket quencher containers for about two-three years. It says on the feed "Do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed as it may cause illness or death." There is no expiry date and they don't apprear to be moldy but could they? Thanks for any replies.

Only three more weeks till I get my new leos

Lisa

I haven't been refridgerating it. It doesn't say to do so on the container, only to keep in a dry well-ventilated place. Oh well I guess I'll just put out another $15 (Canadian) for some new ones. I don't keep enough fresh food in the house, otherwise I'd just do that.

Thanks,
Lisa

Lisa, are you using the yellow calcium quenter stuff from flukers? Cause I have that at the moment and it does not need to be in the fridgeidator ( ) but there are some that need to be in the fridge. I have seen that stuff mold before, and you would know if it went "bad" it gets nasty. You are probably fine as long as you don't actually SEE mold. Only fridgedate (i like my make up words) the cricket food that says to do so, and if you are using what I think you are, you're good.

Cool that will save me a few bucks on the quencher. I'm just still ensure about the grain or wheat criket feed stuff.
