They love canned cat food! But I recommend low fat canned dog food instead because cat food is way too high in fat!

I would amend the statement slightly, to say that you can feed it canned cat food, and not that you should. There are healthier, more natural alternatives.
From your list of pets, it sounds like you have your hands full already!
Please look into all aspects of having box turtles before you acquire one: they can get to be pretty expensive.
I've included a link to information about boxturtle diet/feeding which is very informative and well researched(as is the entire website) that I encourage you to read, if its not one you'd discovered already.

Dogs and turtles are not a good mix - many, many turtles are killed and injured by dogs all the time. MB

If you do "get into" box turtles, be sure to have them protected from your dogs. Many owners haven written to me about their dog chewing their pet turtle. The turtle never wins.

As for canned cat food, I don't recommend it on my care sheet, but I do say the occasional low fat canned dog food is OK. Some people use canned cat food as an appetite stimulant for turtles that are ill and reluctant to eat. The smelly cat food will sometimes get them to eat. Box turtles are omnivores and will eat just about anything so people think wahtever they eat must be good for them. But of course the foods they find in the wild is the best. Earthworms, grubs, crickets, even mealworms, superworms, waxworms, as well as some fruits and vegetables. I have a list on my website www.boxturtlelist.org
