Here's a picture of Caramel, my Rock/Burm Hybrid on a clutch of eggs,....

BrianSmith Apr 06, 2004 06:17 AM

This was taken earlier today. She was deep in her cage so it was difficult to get a good shot. If I uncovered too many eggs the flash would backflash and caramel would look good but the eggs would be a white blur. If I didn't use a flash the eggs would show but Caramel would look dingy and just awful. So I finally opted to filter the flash and get a little of both.

Caramel bred with a male albino patternless burmese. These babies will be 75% burm and 25% rock hybrids. I have another female, green patternless rock that is gravid by my male rock/burm hybrid and that clutch will be 75% rock 25% burm, het green patternless. When the offspring from Caramel breed with the offspring from group B. they will either produce 50/50 hybrids triple possible het rock and burm patternless/green/albino, OR, if I'm lucky,.. the patternless traits from the rocks and burms will be compatable and the babies will be 50/50 green patternless hybrids, possible het albino.

All of the snakes in this project are 100% tame so I expect the offspring to carry the same easy going temperment/disposition of the parents. Caramel didn't even hardly flinch when I took her off of her eggs which was surprising. Usually even a docile female will be hissy during this time. So if this isn't testimony of how calm these babies will be I don't know what is.

Woah dude! Absolutely stunning animal and the project sounds amazing!

I hope you come back on a daily basis real soon. We used to have something of a family here and now there is just a handfull of us alumni, Todd, Tom, Darryl and a few others. I'd like to see it get back to the way it was.

Thanks for the compliments. I have another, similar project involving the labyrinth pattern morph and albino, patternless green rock and of course burmese.

hehe, there I go with my native TX accent. ;D

Man, you have some majorly exciting projects (like I should be surprised?). I can't wait to see all the babies from these!

I'll be on here on a daily basis REAL soon. Gotta find two part time receptionists at work first, then I'll only have to work half a day rather than my usual (for those who don't know, the usual is 11-13 hr days). yuckie! ;D

Well, off to go mix up some more henna. ;D

Hugs!

Amanda
