I might be getting a new Dragon

ecb Apr 06, 2004 10:21 AM

a guy at one of the petstores I go to for food remembered I had Dragons, and he bought a pair of dragons because the guy he was buying Chameleons from said they were just like Chameleons (NOT)
He says they were both about4-5" long NVL and the female Died within days of him getting her, but the male has lived for a month, but he thinks it is just too much work.

So I M gonna go pick it up on Wednesday
The kids are helping me set up the Quarentine tank, and I am caling the Vet for an appt as soon as I get the animal.

Should be interesting

I was getting some replacement Feeder fish for the tank (now that I have the water ok again) and as soon as I put them in BOTH babies JUMPED in and went hunting (they both ate a whole worm within the last 2 days)

Erowen ate 2 Nightcrawlers last night, adn one the day before. I have not seen any holes except the one next to the food dish she is sleeping in.
and she is not filling it in, or getting lumpy (but she is getting plump on all the worms she is eating

Let us know how it goes! And give us pics when you get them. That should give you a good group once the babies are grown.

If they're all males you're gonna have to get more females

Then you can be like me and have multiple groups. Just think, you will have to build 3 enclosures!

As for learning from the best, remember, I sold Joe a female and it was the nicest looking male I ever saw within a month!

I will say though that some are so definitely male you don't even have to think about it.

It was not there when I went to pick it up
Not sure what was wrong, will call today when the guy is there
I have to say I was quite disapointed
I had the Quarantine tank all set up, even had a new filter in it, a stand up/suction cup filter for a small tank or a turtle tank
Splashes nicely in my Pyrex baking dish
I have tp put the layer of stones down and the filter medium, and a layer of sand then Dirt, so that I can recirculate water safely

Maybe I will skip the Dirt, in case of infection with Parasites (easier to bake Rocks than to bake Dirt)
Maybe sand would do well alone

well back to work
