Crested Gecko housing

SkankinGecko Apr 06, 2004 11:10 AM

I was wondering how people set up their cresteds' caging. From what I have read, anything from glass aquaria to mesh cages seem to work fine for cresteds. What sorts of plants and/or climbing aparatus do people use?

These are my first arboreal geckos. I was thinking I would like to use live bamboo in the cage.

I would love to see pics of people's setups.

Here's my enclosure. It's 24x22x14", and the pothos is probably his favorite plant.

if you whant to breed them i would keep it simple,im breeding mine in a 10 gallon with coco bedding as the substrate, a few branches to perch on and some larg leaved silk plants to hide under, i also have a container with moist vermiculite for the female to lay eggs in. But if you just whant to have them as pets, i wuld go for the naturalistic viv, it looks so much nicer, pothes are probubly the best plant, i would probity not use live bamboo because the gekos will trample it climbing up and down, bromeliads are good to, you can pore water in the funal and they will drink out of it. eather glass or screen cages are fine, but i perfer glass because they keep humidity well.i wuld not worry about it that much these are very hardy lizards and you shud have very little proble
have fun!
